Community Access Support (CAS) is an essential part of an NDIS plan. It enables participants feel included in their local communities by helping them get out and about. For every participant, outings can be very different depending on their goals. It could include things like: grocery shopping, attending local appointments, going to a park, cafe or even heading out for a spot of fishing.

This month, one of our participants – Clark took dive into Sea World with his support worker, Dana. They both had an absolute blast wandering round to see all the creatures big and small. Through our CAS program, the team at LME Care identified that Clark loved going to theme parks. The team quickly built a plan around how we could accomodate Clark’s wishes into his Community Access Support plan – and made it all happen!
Each month, we plan out a new theme park to keep it fresh and exciting. We are so proud to support individuals like Clark in experiencing new places, and create lasting memories. I wonder where we’ll head to next month!

Funding is accessed through your NDIS plan. Typically this would fall under the Core Supports Budget. Core Supports help with everyday activities, your current disability-related needs and to work towards your goals. To find out more about Core Supports check out this link here. It’s best to check with your support co-ordinator or team to find out if you have available Core Supports budget to get the most out of Community Access Support.
