Community Access Support (CAS) is an essential part of an NDIS plan. It enables participants feel included in their local communities by helping them get out and about. For every participant, outings can be very different depending on their goals. It could include things like: grocery shopping, attending local appointments, going to a park, cafe or even heading out for a spot of fishing.

Community Access Support Outing

This month, one of our participants – Clark took dive into Sea World with his support worker, Dana. They both had an absolute blast wandering round to see all the creatures big and small. Through our CAS program, the team at LME Care identified that Clark loved going to theme parks. The team quickly built a plan around how we could accomodate Clark’s wishes into his Community Access Support plan – and made it all happen!

Each month, we plan out a new theme park to keep it fresh and exciting. We are so proud to support individuals like Clark in experiencing new places, and create lasting memories. I wonder where we’ll head to next month!

What Makes Us Different?

Here are some types of supports that may be included:

  • Attending NDIS Day Programs – like Milly’s Place
  • Weekly grocery shopping
  • Going to appointments
  • Visiting a park, or going for a walk
  • Visiting recreational activities like swimming, bowling or the movies
  • Going to shopping centres
  • Checking out events or concerts
  • Visiting friends & family

The options are really only limited to your imagination!
